We have completely revised the Choir Manager

Almost 9 years ago, on November 26th, 2010, we acquired the domain name “choirmanager.com”. A few months later, we actually launched the service and started to support choir managers in organizing their choirs’ singers and events. Almost 10 years later, we have more than 500 registered choirs and supported over a hundred thousands of event interactions. While the platform had worked smoothly with very few issues, it got a bit dated in terms of design and device compatibility.

On Monday, July 22nd, 2019, we are finally going to relaunch our service. After 9 months of preparation, we feel comfortable enough to open the curtains for the most important update of choirmanager.com in its almost 10-year history. During the development, we were driven by three major goals:

  1. Ensure a better user experience and increase device and screen size compatibility, using a responsive design that automatically resizes
  2. Modernize the technical foundation to ease future enhancements
  3. Communicate the fact that the core service of choirmanager.com is for free

We are confident that we have achieved all three goals with the new version. Design, wording, and placing of elements have been optimized to become clearer and more intuitive. The website now reacts to the size of the current user’s device and can be used easily on phones, pads, and desktop computers. It finally supports both touch and mouse interactions. Making a website better is a job that never ends: we always love to hear your thoughts and wishes, so please do not hesitate to reach out to us with any ideas you might have.

We also laid the technical ground for new features. We have a long list of extensions we always wanted to add to the platform, including social login, management of works & sheet music, public websites for choirs, or professionally designed concert posters. The new version makes this much easier.

Finally, we had to make sure that the new public website of choirmanager.com is clearly communicating the fact that the core service is for free: we are not charging you at all for managing your choirs on our platform. You might not have been aware of this, but choirmanager.com is a pet project of G&L Geißendörfer & Leschinsky GmbH, a systems integrator and managed service provider in the streaming media world. Both owners have a background in choral music: Hans W. Geißendörfer as a former member of the Windsbacher Boys Choir and Alexander Leschinsky as a current member of the Cologne Cathedral Chamber Choir. We love vocal music and are happy to support other choirs and singers with our tool.

Our team worked hard to come up with this new version, thanks a lot to all people involved, first and foremost Justyna Hadyniak, German Ilin, and Jochen Herkenrath. We hope that you find some value in the relaunched choirmanager.com service.

Happy singing!
